Contains 70% Turf Tall Fescue, 20% Turf Ryegrass, 10% Kentucky Bluegrass.
Survivor Mix is just that, a Survivor. Most of the mix is Turf Type Tall Fescue which is heat and drought tolerant as well as genetically dark green. We have added some Turf Ryegrass for better density and wear tolerance along with faster germination and establishment. The third component of this mix is Kentucky Bluegrass which blends brilliantly with the other two as well as spreading through horizontally running rhizomes just below the surface of the ground. This effectively holds the lawn together once it is fully established and reduces the clumping you sometimes get with Tall Fescue and Ryegrass.
Pros
• Very resilient, sustainable mix of grass species
• Very heat and drought tolerant
• Naturally dark green
• Reduced requirement for irrigation and fertiliser, however for best results it will enjoy both
• Excellent in full sunny situations
Cons
• Needs to be sown in warmer seasons September to April, or when soil temperatures are between 12° and 25° C
• Should not be mown below 25mm. It can be mown lower but will require greater maintenance inputs such as irrigation and fertiliser
• Only moderately shade tolerant so it is best used in full sun
