Sun n Shade is the ultimate lawn for situations where the lawn is primarily in full sun but has areas that are in shade at some point in the day.
Sun n Shade’s main constituent is very heat and drought tolerant, which ensures an attractive and green lawn even in the height of summer. Tall Fescue has a broader leaf and is genetically dark green. The Creeping Red Fescue and Chewings Fescue are exceptionally fine in texture and are the shade tolerant portion of this mix. Like Tall Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass is very tolerant as well as performing well in moderate shade, but it also spreads through horizontally running rhizomes just below the surface of the ground. Basically, this component holds the lawn together as well as enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Pros

• Produces a very dense canopy from its various grass species
• Requires less water and less fertilisation
• Will survive long hot summers with only occasional irrigation
Cons
• It can take longer to germinate and establish than some other species types such as Ryegrass
• The Tall Fescue component requires warm conditions to germinate and establish, typically from 12° C to 25° C soil temperature
• Not necessarily a con, but this mix is best mown at 50mm or higher for the best performance
